Task

The German DIY market leader wants to improve their extensive spring newspaper insert and digitally enhance the value added chain. Kontrast is commissioned with the development of a corresponding mobile app for smartphones.

Implementation

In cooperation with our Dutch partner agency twnkls, we develop an Augmented Reality app that encourages the user to playfully explore the spring insert. By scanning the leaflet with a mobile cam, hidden AR markers are detected, triggering the appearance of three-dimensional product animations on the screen of the phone. Players who find all the hidden animations can enter in a sweepstakes using the app.

Result

The response of the DIY target group is very positive: 11,000 downloads, 18,000 views, 6,000 sweepstakes participants and average app activity of over 5 minutes. The conversion rate amounts to a whopping 61 percent.
